Some floors at I-Feng Mansions experience new power cut due to electricity leakage

After more than a day of a large-scale power outage at To Kwa Wan's I-Feng Mansions, electricity was fully restored to the residential development at 3 a.m. this morning.
But suspected electricity leakage at some residential units led to several floors of the buildings experiencing yet another round of power cut.
Blocks A and C of To Kwa Wan's I-Feng Mansions had been subject to a massive power outage for more than 30 hours, with speedy repair efforts restoring electricity throughout the housing development by the early hours of today.
Shops and restaurants on the ground level reopened this morning, their business unhampered with electric fans and lights all working.
This as the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department initially strived to restore power to block A by 10 p.m. last night, and block C by 2 a.m. this morning. However, that was only achieved by 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. respectively.
Some residents at an elderly care home in block A complained they couldn't sleep for half of the night.
This woman said the stuffy environment and sweltering heat put her in a bad mood.
Hoping to offer some measures of relief to the residents, the manager of the care home said she would give them extra water to lower their body temperature.
But some residents' hopes for the return of electricity were dashed when several floors of block A experienced another power outage earlier today.
This resident said her floor lost power again at around 7 this morning, stressing that an electricity leakage in one of the residential units was responsible for it.
Kowloon City District Councillor Kwan Ho-yeung, who has been offering assistance to local residents, was unsure how long the second power outage will last.
He added that many volunteers and personnel from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department are trying to find the source of the incident in hopes of promptly restoring power to the affected residents.
