Hong Kong's International Airport is handling more than a thousand flights today after the storm battered the city yesterday.

At the airport, long lines snake around the departure areas, and there are plenty of airline staff on site to help.

This family trip to Taiwan was messed up, and is only leaving today, but fortunately, changing tickets and hotel bookings are not an issue.

Airport Authority opens up all three runways to handle more than a thousand flights today, and it is confident it can accommodate all the delayed passengers by Tuesday latest.

Around 500 flights were cancelled due to the storm and up to one hundred thousand travellers' trips were disrupted.
