HKO gives Wipha update

LEE SHUK MING, Senior Scientific Officer, Hong Kong Observatory says "According to the present forecast track, Wipha will be rather close to the vicinity of the Pearl River estuary this morning. It will skirt at about 50 km south of the Hong Kong Observatory. Local winds will strengthen to gale to storm force. Depending on the distance between Wipha and Hong Kong,and the change in local wind conditions, the observatory will assess the needfor issuing higher tropical cyclone warning signals this morning."
