The government's Belt and Road Commissioner Nicholas Ho recently led a delegation to visit Indonesia and Malaysia to promote Hong Kong's infrastructure and construction-related professional services.

The delegation has about 20 members from professional services and business sectors. They signed 21 memorandums of cooperation with governments and business representatives in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Ho said in the future, "ASEAN will transform from a factory to a market, from a trade transit point to the ultimate destination of trade. They are a fast-growing market, a young market, and a high-consumption market."

In recent years, more and more buildings in Hong Kong have adopted MiC, or Modular Integrated Construction, which is something that Hong Kong can bring to ASEAN countries.

Albert Cheng Ting-ning, Executive Director of the Construction Industry Council, said they are promoting MiC and many new technologies to ASEAN countries, such as remote scale construction methods and electromechanical construction methods.
