President Donald Trump said Sunday that billionaire Elon Musk's move to start a new U.S. political party is ridiculous and could add to confusion.
U.S. President Donald Trump said: "I think it's ridiculous to start a third party. We have a tremendous success with the Republican Party. The Democrats have lost their way, but it's always been a two-party system. And I think starting a third party just adds to confusion. It really seems to have been developed for two parties. Third parties have never worked. So he can have fun with it, but I think it's ridiculous"
Elon Musk announced the new America Party in response to the president's sweeping tax cuts law. The once ally to Trump as he headed up the Department of Government Efficiency broke with the Republican president over his signature legislation which was signed into law last Friday.
