Sources say U.S. President Donald Trump will visit China in the next six months, during which he could be accompanied by several dozen business leaders.

But the source did not mention whether Trump will meet with President Xi Jinping during the upcoming visit.

This as U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent expressed confidence more Chinese rare earth magnets will be imported into the U.S. after the two countries reached a trade agreement earlier this week.

Nikkei Asia cited sources saying that American officials are already preparing U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China later this year after he announced the finalisation of a trade agreement between the two countries on Thursday.

The scale of the visit will be similar to that of Trump's earlier visit to Saudi Arabia in May, where the American president was accompanied by a delegation of dozens of business leaders.

Speaking in an interview with Fox Business, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent revealed further details of the Sino-American trade agreement.

He noted part of the agreement includes a decrease in tariffs and a deal on rare earth.

He expressed confidence rare earth magnets will be imported to the U.S.

Bessent stressed China accounts for 30 percent of global manufacturing output and believes it to be unsustainable.

He added that Washington needs to observe if Beijing is willing to be a responsible business partner.

Bessent also expects Washington's trade disputes will be resolved prior to the Labour Day holiday on September 1st, meaning that the U.S. will continue engaging in trade negotiations past the original July deadline.
