Police on Thursday continued to search for evidence in relation to a case of a missing woman of non-Chinese descent. The police suspect the woman was murdered.
Sources say the suspect may have fled to Vietnam. The police have arrested a 25-year-old woman
for allegedly assisting the suspect. She will appear at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on Friday.
Police carried out their investigation at West New Territories Landfill in Tuen Mun on Thursday morning. More than one hundred personnel were deployed to the Landfill. They were dressed in protective gear and carried tools such as hoes.
The search operation lasted until the afternoon.
Sources say the police have found suspected evidence in waters off Hoi Fai Road in Tai Kok Tsui, but they have not discovered any body parts.
The missing woman, aged 49, was known to have visited a tenement building in Cheung Sha Wan.
A man, who claimed to be the woman's boyfriend, appeared outside the property to pay his respect on Thursday afternoon. The police say they are looking for a man of non-Chinese descent in relation to the case.
