Members of the public can visit an exhibition showcasing over 300 local intangible cultural heritage items
in Tai Kwun in Central between now and July 5th.

Handcrafted by a local craftsman and his five students, this six-metre-tall flower board is the exhibition's highlight.

The dazzling symbols represent 12 intangible cultural heritage elements that visitors can find in the fair.

For instance, the making of Cheongsam requires a master's skilful sewing techniques.

Paper crafting skill is used in producing the lion head and the lanterns.

The government launched the city's first Intangible Cultural Heritage Month earlier this month.

The exhibition organisers, Hong Kong Arts Centre and Lingnan University, hope to enhance public awareness of local intangible cultural heritage as a means to promote the sustainable development of related skills.
