U.S. President Donald Trump announced Iran and Israel had agreed to a total ceasefire, hours after Iran launched limited missile attacks on Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base where thousands of U.S. troops are stationed.

The White House made last-ditch effort to contact Iran ahead of its strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, but the plan never materialised as Iran's supreme leader was reportedly a no-show for potential negotiations. NBC reports.
