Tai Pan Bread and Cakes, which has a history of 41 years, announced that it has suspended business from today.
Shops of Tai Pan, located in Argyle Street, Mong Kok and North Point, were not open in the morning.
A notice of closure was posted outside the gate, stating that due to many unpredictable and irresistible shocks recently, the company was forced to announce with regret that it would officially stop business from today. They apologized for the inconvenience caused.
The office and factory in San Po Kong are not open.
Last Sunday, the shelves of Tai Pan's three branches located in MTR Choi Hung Station, Tai Wai Station and Whampoa Station were emptied and the gates were closed.
Tai Pan opened its first shop in 1984 and later developed into a chain enterprise. In 1989, it launched the first iced skin mooncake.
Tai Pan once had more than 20 branches. The official website shows that there are only 12 branches left. Recently, it was reported that there were delays in wage payments.
