117 mainland students, 2 Hongkongers safely evacuated to Egypt from Israel

The Chinese Embassy in Israel said it has evacuated almost 300 Chinese citizens to safety via the land borders to Jordan and Egypt.
117 overseas students and two Hongkongers were taken to Egypt through the Taba border crossing on Thursday.
Some Chinese students in Israel said they were forced to evacuate to a hotel from their bombed campus.
They felt relieved as embassy officials showed up to provide necessary support such as food and water, and accompanied them during group evacuations which were carried out smoothly.
Chinese Ambassador to Israel Zhao Yan noted the embassy is highly concerned and had activated an emergency response, adding the next step would be transferring all the 119 compatriots to Cairo.
Meanwhile, authorities announced over 1,600 Chinese nationals had been safely evacuated out of Iran.
It is reported some of the evacuees spent eight hours on bus ride to reach neighbouring Azerbaijan and waited almost 10 hours at the border crossing.
