Netanyahu: Strikes on Iran integral to Israel's very survival

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the Israeli public that they may have to spend prolonged periods in bomb shelters ahead of an anticipated retaliatory strike by Iran.
Netanyahu says that Israeli strikes had hit senior Iranian commanders. He did not identify the commanders.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards corps says its top commander, Hossein Salami, was killed and state media reported the unit's headquarters in Tehran had been hit.
Netanyahu says the military operation was to ensure Israel survives the Iran threat.
Netanyahu said: "Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel's very survival. This operation will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat. For decades, the tyrants of Tehran have brazenly, openly called for Israel's destruction. They backed up their genocidal rhetoric with a program to develop nuclear weapons."
