This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and China.
The Philippine Consulate hosted the National Day Reception this evening, with Financial Secretary Paul Chan being the guest of honour.
PAUL CHAN, Financial Secretary: Last year, we welcomed nearly 1.2 million visitors from the Philippines, a remarkable increase of over 55 percent compared to 2023. This positive momentum has continued, with over 550,000 Filipino visitors visiting Hong Kong in the first five months of this year, representing another 27 percent increase.

What makes Philippines and Hong Kong S.A.R. relations even more amazing is that more than 230,000 Filipinos call this global city their temporary home.
