Multiple MTR railway projects are underway with Kwu Tung Station set to top out by the end of this year, maintaining its targeted 2027 opening.

Located between Lok Ma Chau and Sheung Shui stations, the new Kwu Tung Station has already seen key progress made including major platform and concourse structures.

Glass curtain walls on the railway platform are being installed during the two hours after normal service hours so train operations remain unaffected.

Meanwhile, at Hung Shui Kiu Station on the Tuen Ma Line, cable diversion works have been completed.

On the Tung Chung Line Extension, Tung Chung East Station has completed its platform and concourse structures as well.

The MTR says it remains committed to introducing smart technology to keep all its projects on schedule.

They include the newly established "Digital Delivery Centre" in Yuen Long and Tung Chung which introduces integrated smart project management that can monitor construction progress in real time and step up workers' safety.

CARL DEVLIN, Capital Works Director, MTRC: What this enables us to do is to bring all the professionals working on the projects together at an early stage to plan and coordinate all aspects of the project together. We will continue to explore and bring in further technology to enhance the efficiency of the project.
