In a historic football debut at the city's Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong Team edged past India 1-0 in the AFC Asian Cup qualifying match tonight, thanks to a dramatic stoppage time penalty.

It was a night of roaring pride as Hong Kong played its first-ever football match at the Kai Tak Stadium.
Cheers and chants on home turf as the Hong Kong Team took to the field.
Many were rooting for the home side.
Supporters of India were mainly concentrated in the south stand. Although their numbers were fewer, the atmosphere was equally vibrant.
The match looked like it would end in a draw but the home side were awarded a late penalty in stoppage time.
Hong Kong eventually notched a 1-nil win, raising the roof at Kai Tak.
As the spectators made their way out -- still wanting more, their cheers echoed through the stadium elated by the maiden victory by the city's football team at Kai Tak.
