Free rides & special offers on July 1

July 1 will be the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland. Chief Executive John Lee said the government will hold various celebratory activities, with different special offers available on July 1.

Regarding transportation, the MTR will give away 71,000 single-journey tickets. Children under 11 can ride the Airport Express for free, while those aged 60 or above and students can ride at half price.

Many ferry routes will be free on July 1st, and trams will be free for three days.

Many recreational facilities, including the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's sports grounds and swimming pools, the Science Museum and Space Museum's permanent exhibitions, and the Wetland Park, will be open free of charge on July .

Over a thousand restaurants will offer discounts; details will be announced on a dedicated website this afternoon.
