An Indian social media movement with millions of followers will face its biggest test on Saturday, with its founder expected to lead a demonstration in New Delhi.
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, is taking his movement into street politics after weeks of dominating social media feeds and news headlines, attracting widespread support among young Indians.
The protest will be an early test of whether the movement can channel its online popularity into something with broad grassroot support.
Dipke arrives in the capital from the US on Saturday, calling for India's education minister to resign.
India's Chief Justice Surya Kant likened critics and unemployed youth to cockroaches earlier, and Dipke, a Boston University student, used the insult as inspiration to spin a political party, amassing more than 15 million followers on social media within days.
