The Hong Kong International Airport’s new Terminal 2 has commenced service, with Hong Kong Airlines being the first airline to move in.
The Airport Authority said operations are generally smooth, and it anticipates 8 million passengers will use the terminal in the first year.
The first departing flight is to Shanghai Pudong.
Around 5:00 AM, passengers have already arrived at the counters to experience the new facilities.
Passengers said it was convenient, less crowded, comfortable, and the self-service is faster. Restaurants are convenient too.
The Airport Authority has arranged for 15 airlines to relocate to Terminal 2 in phases. Starting Thursday, other airlines will gradually begin checking in here.
