At least 3 ships were attacked near the Strait of Hormuz, while oil prices rose. Two vessels were struck, and an unknown projectile exploded very close to a third ship.
Iran had warned ships not to pass through the strait.
Ships going through this route usually carry about 20% of the world's oil and gas. International shipping has almost come to a standstill at the strait's entrance, and analyst say a prolonged conflict could push energy prices even higher.
