US President Donald Trump is blaming Iran for the downing of an army helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz and says the US must respond to the attack.
Trump said the two Army aviators who were aboard the Apache helicopter when it went down Tuesday "are safe and uninjured."
Pope Leo XIV presided over midday prayers at Barcelona's Cathedral of Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia Tuesday and later hosted vigil for youth at the city's Olympic stadium.
Leo's visit to Spain is the first for a pope in 15 years and will end with a two-day stop in the Canary Islands.
Kenyan police clashed with protesters near a military air base in the town of Nanyuki, where the U.S. plans to build an Ebola quarantine center.
Heavy deployment of police prevented protesters from reaching the base, and dozens were arrested.
